Home sick

A friend invited me to join her soroity group. So, last night I went to the first meeting. It was nice to get out and meet new people. However, I got a chill while I was there and just couldn't shake it. I was even shaking during the drive home. By the time I got home, I was freezing! I put my pajamas on and went right to bed. I just couldn't get warm. Chris even put an extra blanket on me, but I was still cold. To make it worse, I woke up almost every hour, with sweats and shakes. It was terrible! So I woke up at 5:50am and called my VP to tell her I wasn't going to be able to make it in to work. I slept until 10am and then again in the afternoon. I feel alot better now. It's amazing what sleep and Tylenol can do!

Madie didn't go to daycare at all today. She was home with Chris this morning and Pam wanted to spend time with her in the afternoon. She hadn't seen her in a while and wanted to see her. She showed her of to eveyone in her residence! What a great auntie!

New pages!

I went to my first scrapbooking class in quite some time on Thursday night. It was on doodling, using the Chatterbox templates. I loved it! I like the doodled look, but I don't think that I'd feel comfortable doing it on my own. I'd probably have to use a pencil first, but then I'd have to erase the lines and what if the pencil marks still showed? Ah the pressure! So, the templates are going to be a God sent! Here's a look at what my pages turned out like. All of the credit goes to Karen, because it was her ideas and her choice of colours. I'm glad that the colours just happened to match the colours in the pics that I had brought! I'm finally catching up on my scrappin'. Tonight, I finally scrapped the pictures from the Blue Jays game that we went to in 2005!

Madie is growing SOOO fast! I keep looking at clothes in her closet, thinking that they're probably still too big for her. Well, they're not! This little suit fit her perfectly! And, the pants weren't too long! Poor little thing has our short legs! No wonder she's getting so big, she's eating like crazy! I swear that she must have a hollow leg!

A Full Week!

Thursday night, we're laying in bed and I say to Chris, "Man! I don't really want to go to work tomorrow!" His response, "Maybe it's because you've actually had to work a full week!" Craziness! It was my third week back! Madie actually went to daycare all week! Other than freezing weather, it was a pretty quiet week.

I got all excited yesterday because when I picked Madie up from daycare, I asked the owner if the kids were going to be doing anything for Valentine's day. She said of course and they even give out valentines! How stinkin' cool is that?! So, guess what we did today? Went to Walmart and bought valentines! We picked out the Strawberry Shortcakes ones, even though Chris contemplated the Nascar ones! I was going to get them anyway and we could have given them to the boys, but Chris said that we didn't have to! I think that I may be a little too excited about the whole thing! Then again, I do LOVE Valentine's day! I think that it's because I have always loved hearts!

Here's our little Goose, waiting for us to put her coat and hat on. Chris just sat her there and this is how she sat! Of course she hammed it up a little once she saw the camera! You'd think that she's had her picture taken often or something! She's funny, that's for sure!

I Love It!

I didn't want to think about it or get too excited last night, in case today wasn't a storm day. But, when I heard the phone ring this morning, I knew what it was for! I love storm days! I have to admit that I love it for reasons other than the obvious. I love spending the day with Madie, to stay in my pajamas, taking a nap with Madie, and I love the look of the trees covered in snow. I called D and we went for a walk to the mailboxes. I also love to check the mail! I got a nice surprise today: Creating Keepsakes' Top Ten Issue. Perfect time to get it! I'm glad that we can take Moka on the trail again. I found it too rough with the stroller, but with the snow and sled, it's fine. Moka loves running and playing in the snow!

Ok, how about that episode of Grey's last night? Poor Georgie! I so just wanted to be able to hug him! I like that he and Kali were holding hands in the scene were the family was lined up outside of his dad's room. That episode made me want to call my Dad and tell him that I love him. But, it was a little too late. Annd how about Addison??? Never saw that coming! I'm also pretty darn proud of Izzie. Good for her!

Here's a a few pics that D and I took today. Madie was so cute, watching Chris clean off the truck this morning. (I was excited when she looked right at the camera and smiled!) She even blew him kisses when he waved bye to her! What a cutie-patootie!

What a goose!

I can't remember when and why, but at some point I started calling Madie "Silly Goose". Since then, it has stuck and her personnality seems to match it. Today, like most days, she tried playing in the dog's dish. I sat on the floor with her and showed her that it was for Moka, not for her. What did she do then? Picked every piece of dog food out of the dish and gave it to Moka! Moka was so good that she wouldn't take it from Madie's hand. Instead, I'd take it and feed it to Moka! A few times, I'd take Madie's hand and help her throw it to Moka. Well, did that ever make her laugh! Now, a few hours after she ate a fairly big supper, she's mooching off of Daddy's supper! Again, what a Goose!

I love weekends!

Well, the first week back has come and gone and we all survived it! Madie cried a little when Chris dropped her off on Thursday and again when I dropped her off yesterday. But, the girls said that she had a good day. I went to pick her up yesterday and she wasn't even there! They had brought the little ones out for a walk in the "four wheeler". When they arrived, there was a bunch of parents waiting out in the parking lot! It was pretty cute! Of course, my goose was asleep! She was very happy when we got home, which made me happy too!

Chris and I decided that on the weekends, we would each get a morning to sleep in. I love it! I'm back to looking forward to the weekends again and loving the time to sleep in, be lazy and just hang out! Here's Madie, lazing around in her bath robe! I'm a little partial, but man, she's cute! Her new thing today is pulling anything that we put in her hair, out. I tried a barret, gone. I tried an elastic and made a Pebbles pigtail, gone! I think that the hair in her eyes bugs me more than it bugs her!!!

I survived!

Well, after an easy transition back to work with a snow day, today was the official first day back. Madie didn't cry or anything when we dropped her off and from what the ladies at daycare told me, she had a great day. She had 2 long naps, 2 snacks and hate a bowl full of soup for lunch! I thought that she'd be excited to see me when I picked her up, but she just smiled and made her way towards me. I'm glad to see that she's in good hands. School was great also. I have a very sweet bunch of kids and working with SMM is a dream! It's nice to finally have someone else to plan with. It was also nice to be back, to see everyone and be welcomed back by them. I'm now a working mom!

Friends

Over the years, many people have come into to my life and have made some sort of impact on it. Well, none have been so great than SMM. She is an amazing woman and I know that she and her husband would do anything for me and my family. I'm not sure which of her beautiful qualities that I like the best, but I know that she's a wonderful friend. And, does she ever love my little goose! She hadn't seen her for 2 weeks, so of course, she came over today, with her birthday gift. Well, did Madie ever love it! It's a Fisher Price Baby Grand Piano. Not only does it have many buttons, colours and lights, it also makes noise! Needless to say, she loves it! I just hope that SMM knows how much she means to me and how happy I am that fate brought her into my life!

Interesting!

While on maternity leave, I have gotten into the habit of watching Canada AM every day. I enjoy the little tidbits that they do and I feel a little more sophisticated since I'm keeping up with the news! Anyways, today they talked about "neuroeconomics". Scientists have found that certain parts of the brain react differently when someone is about to spend. Also, people are more likely to spend twice as much if paying with a credit card rather than with cash. On their site, there is also the idea of craving to spend. "Credit cards actually create a craving, that when you actually touch the plastic, it's like smelling cookies baking when you're hungry. You have to satisfy that craving". Interesting! I thought that my cravings for salty foods was silly! Hey, I bet that this new craving isn't that fattening!!! Just my crazy thoughts for today! Family Visits

We've gone and we're back! We visited my parents and then headed to my in-laws. Madie got more gifts! I don't think that we need to buy her any clothes until she's two! My mom made her a gorgeous quilt that we'll put on her "big girl" bed later on. She knew just what it was for: she cuddled up to it in no time! While we were away, she got her first fat lip. We were visiting friends and Madie fell out of their fluffy chair. Poor little girl cried and cried and got blood on Daddy's shirt! We put ice on it and she was fine! Today, we're off to have family pictures done and then off to a friend's birthday party. She's only one but she's got a pretty busy social calendar! Oh! SM-M, when are you coming home??? We miss you!!!
