She's a Walker!

A few days shy of her 15 month birthday, and she's walking! She took a few steps towards her toys on Friday, but Sunday afternoon, she went between Chris and I (about a 5 foot distance)quite a few times! She got up on her own and would even turn around on her own! Later on, she walked back and forth between the middle of the kitchen to th emiddle of the living room, for at least 15 minutes. Our baby's getting big! She was bathed and in bed by 7:55pm! Poor little thing played herself out! The picture is a little blurry, but hey, it's an "action" shot!!! As you can see, she was very happy and proud!

I Think That I Have a Brother...

Okay, maybe I'm a little to blame too, but at least I try. I do call him and leave messages, but he never calls or calls back. His "excuse" is usually that he's busy. Who's that busy? He even got a new phone number and no one new about it. I tried to call him for 2 days and then I messaged him and that's when he gave me their new number. It was Zac's birthday this week so I called and left a message for him. Have I heard back? Nope. Still have Zac's gift here. I realize that he works shifts, but his job is pretty slow, he's even said that himself. Couldn't he call from work? Or email? He does work with computers, after all! I know that he's a guy and guys don't think of things like girls do, but he's brother and we live in the same stinkin' city! I talk to my parents more often than I talk to him and they live 4 hours away! Anyways, just what I've been thinking about lately...

We Miss You!!!

Here's to hoping that Chris reads this... While most of us got home from work in rather chilly weather, Chris stepped off of the plane to rather nice weather! Yup, he's in San Diego again. I sooooo wish that we were there with him again. But, since I'm back to work, it would be a rather expensive trip, given that I'd have to take the week off without pay! He was here when Madie went to bed last night but gone when she got up this morning. Poor little thing; she kept calling for him. When we went out to the car, she saw his truck and called him again- "Daaa! Daaa!" Then, when we got home tonight, she called for him again. She was standing in the tub, and when I told her to sit down, "Daaa! Daaa!" Almost as though she thought that he'd let her do it or something! I was not looking forward to the morning routine without him, because he helps out alot, giving her breakfast while I shower and all. Well, I made it through the first day! As long as I can get my butt out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off, I think that it'll all be good! Only three more wake-ups 'til he comes home! We miss you...

Back to our Regular Routine!

Man, was it ever hard to get up this morning! Even poor little Madie didn't wake up at her normal time! Chris had to wake her this morning! He ended up bringing her to daycare too. She cried a little but then she was fine. She was as happy as can be when he picked her up and the girls said that she had a good day. Things are are almost back to normal... Her bedtime routine is still a little off. She never use to cry before when we'd put her down. Now, she pretty much has to cry herself to sleep. We go up every so often to console her, but she just cries when we leave. Let's hope that it gets better now that we're back to our regular routine. Here's a picture of her, just cuz, for D. Hope that you're having lots of fun. We went for a walk tonight but it just wasn't the same without you!

Being in a Car for Over 4 Hours...

makes you come up with some pretty weird theories! Chris and I are always acting silly with each other. Well, the drive home from Mom and Dad's was no exception! I'm playing on the laptop (yes in the car. If you know my husband, you understand!) and I'm getting really into this "Dinomyte" game. Chris starts laughing at me and we start acting silly. Keep in mind that this is near the end of the trip, so we're getting rather antsie! Don't ask me how we got on to the subject, but we ended up with a new theory: having a wife that scrapbooks prevents catching an STD! If you're ever really bored, give me a call and I'll try to explain! Otherwise, to all fellow scrappers, remember this new theory next time your significant-other complains that you spend too much time and money on scrapbooking!

We had a great visit with our families this week. We were going to go for a sleigh ride with my parents, but it was -25 degrees with the wind chill, so we didn't think that it would be that fun! Our trip/getaway to Moncton was great also. Falling asleep without a snoring cat and dog, a night-light, music playing for Madie and not having to listen for Madie was interesting, but we did! Now, we just have to get her used to the idea of sleeping in her own bed again... She had a few tough nights while we were away. Not sure if it was because she was in a strange place or if she was scared that we were going to leave her.... Poor Goosey!

Catz

Our little goose is slowly getting better. She's been herself all week, but she wasn't able to go to daycare because she still had the "runs". So, Chris stayed home with her yesterday and Tuesday and I was home with her today. I think that she'll be okay to go back tomorrow though, because things seemed to be back to normal this morning. Chris installed the Catz interactive cat game on his computer for her. She LOVES it! She laughs and talks and points at the screen! What a goose! Tomorrow at 3pm-ish is the first day of March break. Thank goodnes! Chris and I are going to Moncton to shop on Saturday and then to Hillsborough Saturday night. A little getaway for the two of us! It'll be weird not to have Madie around, but I know that she'll have a ball with Chris's parents and his sister. Too bad she won't get any attention though! HA! After we pick up Madie on Sunday, we'll head up to my parents' on Monday. The girls from baby group are getting together that day. Man! If only I could be at both places at once... I'm hoping that they'll want to get together sometime at the end of the month. I miss our Thursdays!
