Agh! What a Weekend!

When I picked Madie up at daycare on Thursday, the girls said that there was "something going around". Apparently some of the babies were jsut sitting there fine one minute and throwing up the next. I was positive and thought, well, Madie won't be sick. She'll be fine. Wrong! Just after eating her supper, she was sick, poor little pet. I had an appointment for a massage, so Chris said that they'd be fine and off I went. Well, before the massage started, Chris called me and told me that she had been sick again, but even worse than before. Poor little Goose. I rocked her once I got home and she just dry heaved a bit through the night. Well, before morning, I was sick. I HATE it! Luckily, Chris stayed home for the morning on Friday, so that I could rest. I couldn't keep anything down. It sucked! But, I was better before bedtime and I was starving! Chris wasn't feeling bad so we thought that he was going to be okay. Again, wrong! Poor guy got it too! We had to cancel our plans to go to our friends' place for a Murder Mystery and I was scared to make everyone sick, but still didn't want to cancel my Stampin' Up party. Luckily, my wonderful neighbour offered her house for the party! I still spent last night going around with a Clorox cloth in one hand and Lysol in the other! Plus, I had windows open all over, airing the place out! I don't think that our house has ever been so sanitized! But, we're all better now so that's what counts, right? We knew that Madie was fine when she started pushing the kitchen chairs around the house and played in the box! Sweet baby! I know that we can't help it because she goes to Daycare and it's bound to happen, but I hope that she doesn't get sick like that for quite some time...

Madie in the Box!

Another weekend has come and gone already! Not too much new here... Chris spent Sunday at a Daytona 500 party with the Race Crew. Madie and I went shopping and visited a friend. While we were there, Madie stood up and let go of the table that she was leaning up against! She wasn't holding on for at least 5 seconds! And she did that twice! I'm sure that she's not far from walking. When she's walking around the house with her hippo, she goes so fast that it looks like she's running! Today, I was looking for one of her toys in her toy box. She started reaching in for some of the toys, so I put her in. Needless to say, she had a blast. She stayed there for about half an hour or so! The picture of her by the window for D. Can you believe that thsi little dress fits her already?! Our little goose is getting so big!!!

Happy Heart Day!

I love Valentine's Day! Chris and I both dropped Madie off this morning, because we had treats, valentines and gifts for her teachers to bring in. All I got was a Valentine mug and I made them a Valentine. But, they have taken such great care of our goose and made the transition so much easier than it could have been, so I wanted to give them a little something. They liked them. She had a great day at daycare and got lots of Valentines from her friends. Before I left this morning I even saw her get close to her little boy friend!

At school, the kids were so excited about handing out their valentines. I told them that we'd exchange them after lunch. Well, some of them must have asked me ten times if they could hand them out after recess! It was so cute to see them all dressed in red and pink. It looked really cool! Tonight Madie had a blast playing with her Valentines, putting them in her little tin and taking them out. R & S gave her Lola, the talking pink hippo! It's too cute! She loves it, as the pictures show. For supper, I made Fettucini Chicken Caccitore. Yum! For dessert, we had fruits and chocolate. Yum! Madie loved it, but after a few bites, she didn't want anymore chocolate, only fruit. Chris was shocked! Chris and Madie made me a sweet Valentine. She even coloured one of her own! Along with it I got a bag fo Hersey kisses. Again, yum! To top everything off, my favourite scrapbook store is gaving a 40% off sale on Friday! I hope that everyone's Heart Day was as great as ours.

What a girl!

I just love that little goose of ours! This week, I went to the Children's Place to buy her a Valentine's day t-shirt. Well, the 18 month one was a little snug. So, we went back yesterday to get a bigger one. Of course, it was on sale, at 50% off! So, I asked if I could get it for the sale price. They gave it to me, on sale! So I bought the little red and pink stripped sweater that she's wearing in one of these pics with the money that I saved! Needless to say, she hammed it up when I took out the camera! I tried to make two little pigtails, to see what it would look like. Yeah, I thinking that her hair isn't quite long enough yet for pigtails! (I took the other pic because I was trying to get a good shot of her with the Valentine teddy that my Grammy gave her last year. This might be the one that I send to our parents, along with their valentine.) We noticed today that she is starting to stand with her back to things and her body facing forward. Could that be a sign that she's getting ready to let go and start walking?

We went to our friends' house for supper last night. It felt like it had only been a few weeks since we'd seen them. Well, the last we saw them was at Madie's birthday! I find that since I've been back to work, the weeks just seem to fly by. I have every intention of calling our friends and inviting them over for supper or coffee. Well, you run a few errands over the weekend and before you know it, it's Monday and we're back to the grind again! Time just flies by too fast!

Long day!

I usually love Thursdays, because I have 2 preps and it means that Friday is SOOO close! Plus, it's ER and Grey's Anatomy night! But, today is rather blah... I saw Madie this morning, but by the time I get home tonight, she'll be in bed! I am taking the last module towards my principal's certificate this week (Youppi!) and it's tonight from 4pm to 9pm and all day tomorrow. I'll be ok tomorrow because I'd normally be at work anyways, but tonight I won't be able to see her... I know that I'll be ok, but it's the first time that I'll be away from her for so long. Wish me luck!

Cool!

It was 11:30am today, I wasn't sick, Madie wasn't sick and it wasn't a storm day, but I was home! I went to work this morning, briefed my supply teacher as to what I had planned for the students for the morning and set out to start my testing. As I'm testing my fourth student, the principal came over the intercom to ask that all teaching staff that weren't with students come to the office, to help call parents. The school was closing! I guess that one of the fire extinguishers went off over the weekend and the powder it released was still in the air. A few teachers and teacher assistants were getting all stuffed up and were having a hard time to breathe. So, that's why I was home, on a Monday, at 11:30am! I picked Madie up from daycare and we napped all afternoon! It was great! I'm hoping that it will have helped this darn cold...

Shhh!

Another weekend has come and gone! I'm still trying to fight off that darn cold, so I didn't really do too much other than sleep! I just wish that my nostrils weren't plugged so bad... I can't a taste anything! Cooked a great ham and scalopped potatoes for supper, nothing! No taste! Only one of my favorite meals! Argh! Friday night we did groceries and yesterday was one of Madie's friends' birthday. It was great to see the moms and babies again. Other than spending my days with Madie, mommy and baby group is the thing that I miss the most since I've gone back to work. I enjoyed getting together with everyone once a week. Kylie was the last one from the group to celebrate her birthday. So, all of our babies are officially one!
Last night we went to R & S's place and played "Buzz Word". Fun and addictive little game! Today, we went out to visit the racer! Chris helped peeled decals off the car and I made Valentine cards for the grand-parents.
Here's Madie saying "Shhh!" Chris only showed her how to do it once and now she usually does it when we ask her to. Except of course when we wanted to show H!!! Silly goose!
