So Happy!

Before I went to bed last night, I went to kiss Madie goodnight, like I do every night. I whispered to her that I was looking forward to spending the day with her and going to Baby Group. Then, as I slipped into bed, I got to thinking that I was a very lucky and happy woman. I have a great man, a wonderful daughter, great friends and an amazing family. Plus, I have a job that I love, that gives me 2 months a year to be home with my babes! What more could I ask for?!

B, J & Z came over last night and B mowed the lawn. Thank goodness! I was afraid of maybe being shunned from the neighborhood! They had bad news; she miscarried. It sucks, but as I told her, it might be for the best, especially if there would have been something wrong with the baby. The doctor said that she saw no problems in her trying to get pregnant again, very soon. Let's keep our fingers crossed...

Mommy and Madie Time

Poor Daddy is in San Diego this week! We almost feel sorry for him!! But, we do miss him alot. This morning, Madie kept saying "Da! Da!" and she wasn't really herself. Poor little Goose! We spent the weekend at Nan's and went shopping in Presquile. I had to talk myslef into not buying more clothes than I already hadfor Madie! The little girl's summer clothes were so cute and pretty cheap. I ended up buying her a kitten night gown, 2 t-shirts and a Strawberry Shortcake top with matching skort. It's too stinkin' cute! Of course, I had to find Bath & Body Works while we were there! I got 5 bottles of hand soap for $15 and one bottle of Banana scented cream for $2.10! The saleslady made a mistake and was supposed to charge me $8, the full price! Oh well! Madie went to a church function with Nana, Grampy and Auntie Pam. Everyone said that she was cute, of course! I told Nan that I was lucky to have such a great extended family; when I told the girls at work that I was going to my Nan-in-law's for the weekend, without Chris, they couldn't believe it! They said that they would never go to theirs without their husbands. Guess I'm a lucky girl, cuz I enjoy spending time with them. Plus, I know how much they love seeing Madie!

We left there around 3pm and I wasn't even to Hartland and she was sound asleep (again, considering that she had slept 2 hours in the morning!) Madie's new thing that she started this weekend is taking Moka's food out of her dish and throwing it to her, one morcel at a time! Moka runs for it and she laughs hysterically! Now, she's trying to get Moka up off of the floor, by yelling "Mo! Mo!", but Moka's too tired to move! I think that even though we had a great weekend, everyone is glad to be home! Now, we just need for Daddy to come and everyone be be happy! I think that I should go work on my application for the VP position at my school, since it's due tomorrow!!!

2 + 2 Days to Go!!!

I know, 2 + 2 = 4, but what I mean is that there are only 2 days of teaching left and then 2 days of clean up and paper work. Then, I'm home with my Goose for 2 whole months! And I thought that I loved summer before I was a mom! Not too much new to report here... Chris leaves for San Diego tomorrow :( Wish I was going with him.... I decided that Madie and I would take the weekend and visit family. We're goign to head up to Nan's and then to Presquile, to do a little shopping!!! I can't wait! Last weekend, I brought Madie to Kingswood for the Open Gym time in gymnastics wing. Well, we had a blast! She wasn't too sure about the tramoplines, but she did like the barrell-like mat that she kept going into. We jumped into the sponge pit together, and she laughed, but wasn't overly sure about it all! But, we did have alot of fun!

Our summer calendar is srating to fill up already; we're going to attempt to start Baby Group again, we're going to go swimming with S, visit Meme and Grampy, going to New Hampshire for a week with R & H and in mid July, we start Music lessons! We're going to have a ball! And then, I have lots of pictures to scarpbook on rainy days!!!

Take the Time...

This past week has been an emotional roller coaster ride for us. Darrel Priede, the soldier that was killed this week, was an aquaintance of ours. I rubber-stamp with his wife and they are close friends to R & H. Needless to say, this incident hit way too close to home. But then, R decided to race anyways, his way of dealing with everything that happened. Well, around 8:30pm last night, Chris called to tell me that R had won the race. He led every lap and no other car could touch him! It took him ten years in the Sportsman division, but the timing could not have been better!

Friday night, Chris, Madie and I went out to supper and stopped at Wilmot Park on the way home. She had a ball! Her favorites are the slides (prefering to go down on her stomach!) and the swings. Yesterday, her and I went to the Market and then to the park again. And today, we packed a picnic and went to Odell Park, with Moka, R, S and Sadie. A third day of fun at the park! When we got home, R stopped by, with a mini cone for Madie. Her first cone over! Here are a few pics that we snapped this weekend. The ones near the flowers were taken on Friday, in our front yard. I had the close-up one (with the white flowers) finished in 8 X 10 and just had to scrapbook it right away! It turned out pretty cute!

I called this post "Take the Time", because this past week's events made me realize that we have to. Take the time to spend with family and friends, take the time to watch your child have fun, take the time to sit and enjoy your evening tea, just take to the time to enjoy life. It is way too short. Toby Keith put it best in his song "My List"... That's the song that's been in my mind lately.

"Under an old brass paperweight is my list of things to do today
Go to the bank and the hardware store, put a new lock on the cellar door
I cross 'em off as I get 'em done but when the sun is set
There's still more than a few things left I haven't got to yet

Go for a walk, say a little prayer
Take a deep breath of mountain air
Put on my glove and play some catch
It's time that I make time for that
Wade the shore and cast a line
Pick up a long lost friend of mine
Sit on the porch and give my girl a kiss
Start livin', that's the next thing on my list

Wouldn't change the course of fate but cuttin' the grass just had to wait
'Cause I've bot more important things like pushin' my kid on the backyard swing
I won't break my back for a million bucks I can't take to my grave
So why put off for tomorrow what I could get done today

Like go for a walk, say a little prayer
Take a deep breath of mountain air
Put on my glove and play some catch
It's time that I make time for that
Wade the shore and cast a line
Pick up a long lost friend of mine
Sit on the porch and give my girl a kiss
Start livin', that's the next thing on my list

Raise a little hell, laugh 'til it hurts
Put an extra five in the plate at church
Call up my folks just to chat
It's time that I make time for that
Stay up late, then oversleep
Show her what she means to me
Catch up on all the things I've always missed
Just start livin', that's the next thing on my list

Under an old brass paperweight
Is my list of things to do today"
