Our First Visit...

to the ER took place tonight. Yup, had to bring Madie in to see the doctor, just to be sure that she was okay. Chris and I were sitting in the livingroom, about 3 feet from each other. She was with him and decided to walk over to me. Well, in that little space, she tripped and fell, hitting her head on the edge of the hardwood chair. She cried like crazy and within seconds, she had a large goose egg on her forehead and it was purple. I called my parents (my mom's a nurse) and my dad said that she was probably okay, but it wouldn't hurt to bring her in. The doctor looked in her ears, to make sure that there wasn't any bleeding, and there wasn't any. Given that she wasn't sick or hadn't passed out, and was not being very cooperative when he was trying to look in her ears, they sent us home. The doc told us to keep an eye on her through the night, every 2 hours or so and the swelling should be down by morning. They gave us a sheet of things to look for and if they happen, bring her right back. I'll tell you, Oromocto hospital rocks! Maybe it's cuz Madie is little or because it was a hit to the head, but we were in and out of there in no time. We left here at 7pm and we were home by 8pm. (We even stopped to get gas on the way home!) Anyways, Madie is asleep now and has been fine since we've been home. I know that this is not her last bump, but it sure was scary... Like Chris said, there's nothing delicate about her. She's rough and tough. She's going to be the kid that goes to school with a new scrape or bruise every day!!!

Slacker...

I can't believe that it has been 2 weeks since I've posted... I kinda feel bad! I get upset when I look at my friends' Blog and they haven't posted anything new! I guess that I'm a bit of a hypocrite! Not too much new to report around here, other than spring seems to have FINALLY arrived! We spent most of the day yesterday and today outside, with Madison. She loves it! She cries when we come in. She spent most of her time outside yesterday on the deck. Today, she began to explore the front yard. She ususally just stands on the walkway and picks up rocks. Well, today she walked around and even went on the grass. I was at a Stampin' class, but Chris said that she wasn't too sure about it at first. Then, she was walking all around the front yard! When she got tired, she sat on the walk-way and shoveled rocks into her bucket. What a cutie! Chris got quite a bit of yard work done and I was able to prune my flower beds. I even got ambitious and vacuumed out the car! It's amazing what nice weather will do to you!

Happy Easter!

I love long weekends! We had a great one! Although I missed seeing our families, it was nice to just hang out at home. We went to breakfast with R & H on Friday and then to R & S for Easter dinner on Sunday (I made "Rocky Road Cheesecake" for dessert... YUMMY!) . Other than that, we just hung out at home and played with Madie Moo. We rented "The Holiday"; sweet, feel-good movie. The Easter Bunny found us and Madie loved her gift! She played with her toy kitten and hugged it quite a bit! We even let her eat some chocolate! She loves it as much as we do! Here are a few pics from this weekend. Needless to say, Hobbes' "safe" spot to watch the birds doesn't seem that safe anymore!

S-P-0-I-L-E-D!!!

Believe it or not, I'm not talking about Madie! It was my birthday on Wednesday, and I thought that it was going to be a pretty normal night at home, with Madie and Chris. Well, I was wrong! When I got home after work, the house smelled sweet. I wondered if maybe Chris had been home at lunch to make me a cake. Well, as I walked into the kitchen, I noticed that the oven was on. Inside, there was a huge ham and scalloped potatoes! My favorite meal. Within a few minutes, my dad, Grammy and sister are at the front door! My mom was hiding outside! They drove 4 hours to surprise me! How cool is that?! I have the best parents! Plus, they brought gifts! To top it all off, Thursday was a snow day! In 7 years of teaching, I have never had a snow day in April! It was great! I brought Madie to daycare for a few hours, because they were having Easter treats and I had made cupcakes. So, I went into Compupro and spent my birthday money! It was fun! I also went to Walmart, to buy Easter treats. What else did I find? Pink rubber boots, in Madie's size! She LOVES them! She even wears them in the house! If one falls off, she even tries to put them back on! Too cute, that Goose of ours!

Busy Weekend

Another weekend has come and gone... Times is just flying by! We had a pretty busy/steady weekend. Friday night, we went shopping for pajamas for Madie. It was pretty funny because the ones that I'd pick were obviously girly and the clothes that Chris kept showing were cute, but for boys. I asked him if he was trying to tell me something! We ended up getting two pairs; one is pink with purple butterflies and the other is green, with various coloured cars! Guess who picked what! Saturday night, we had a "Murder Mystery" at R & H. Guess who the murderer was?! Moi! Yup, I was a drug pusher, continuing the family business while my brother was in jail. Turns out the victim was going to blow my cover, so I poisoned her! Chris's character had violent psychotic tendencies if he didn't take his meds! The story was set at the "Sugar Shack Cafe", in 1963. I wore a dark pink poodle skirt and pigtails. Check out Chris's outfit! Needless to say, we all had a pretty good time!

We've discovered that our little girl loves to play outside. She doesn't really make it passed the walkway, becasue she stops and plays with the rocks, but she loves it. We have to watch her though, because she tries to eat them! She cries when we bring her in. We would stay out with her a little longer, but it's still a little chilly, so we don't want her to get cold!
We decided to stay here for Easter. We were home to each of our parents over March break, so we figured that we'd just take it easy. R & S invited us over for Easter dinner. I told her that I'd bring dessert. The recipe that I chose? Rocky Road Cheesecake! I love the Kraft "What's Cooking" magazine! I'll let you know how it turns out! Hey, only 2 more wake-ups 'til my birthday!!! Oh yeah. Still haven't heard from my brother! My dad told him about my Blog entry and he just laughed...
